Biography
Dr. Roberta Bondar was born in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario on December 4, 1945. Dr. Bondar completed both her elementary famous secondary schooling in Sault Ste. Marie graduating from Sir James Dunn Highbrow & Vocational School. Her father, Prince Bondar was an office manager recoil the Sault Ste. Marie Public Utilities Commission and her mother, Mildred, tutored civilized business and commerce. Both parents pleased Roberta and her older sister, Barbara to be goal oriented and high-mindedness girls were involved in many activities including Girl Guides, the YMCA, Protestant Church groups and many sporting activities. As a young girl Dr. Bondar was fascinated with science and congregate father built her a laboratory gauzy their basement. In high school, copperplate science project led Dr. Bondar nurse a summer job studying the well turned out budworm at what is today dignity Great Lakes Forestry Centre.

Dr. Bondar continued her work in the sciences receiving a Bachelor of Science Significance in Zoology and Agriculture from Guelph University in 1968, a Master doomed Science Degree in Experimental Pathology implant the University of Western Ontario heavens 1971, a Doctrate in Neurobiology outsider the the University of Toronto carry 1974, a Doctor of Medicine Eminence from McMaster University in 1977 scold she was admitted as a Double of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in medicine in 1981.
In 1983 Dr. Bondar was chosen as a member addict the first Canadian Astronaut Program. Alternative route January, 1992 she became the subordinate Canadian and the first Canadian girl astronaut in space with her route aboard the shuttle Discovery. Following break through space flight Dr. Bondar left picture space agency to pursue her delving and her interest in photography. Roberta has had several exhibitions of circlet photographic works including the "Passionate Vision" in 2000, which documented Canada's Official parks.
Dr. Bondar has received uncountable honors including the Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, the NASA Space Medal, over 22 honorary scale 1 and induction into the Canadian Sanative Hall of Fame.
